MKBD 2022: MOUNTAIN X CHERRY MX GIVEAWAY [WEEK 1]

05/2022 - Back to overview

With Mechanical Keyboard Day 2022, we celebrate our passion for mechanical keyboards for the fourth year in a row - and therefore give away the best models of our partners to our community. This year we'll start with Mountain, who will not only throw their flagship Everest Max into the raffle but also the Everest Core and the Core Barebone. The main prize is the Mountain Everest Max, the maxed-out variant of the Everest. Using CHERRY MX RGB switches and factory-lubricated Cherry stabilizers, this keyboard goes above and beyond to deliver an unparalleled typing and gaming experience. We're giving away a total of two.

MODULARITY FOR HIGH FUNCTIONALITY

Building on a unique modular design, the TKL centerpiece of the Everest comes with a modular numpad that can be either attached to the left or right side of the TKL - or, alternatively, at some distance from the keyboard with the included USB extension cable. But this is not your average numpad: It features four display keys that can be configured flexibly and assigned with images. The options range from simple key bindings, program shortcuts, and profile switching to more complex macros.

Another module that can be added to the Everest Max is the Media Dock. It not only provides media control but also offers a display dial that can be used to show real-time system monitoring, for example, or as an indicator for profile switching or RGB configurations. The Media Dock can be attached to the top left or right side of the Everest - and again at some distance with the extension cable. The modular palm rest with soft-touch surface and comfortable cushioning are rounding off the package.

CHOICE OF FIVE VARIOUS CHERRY MX RGB SWITCHES

With every Everest keyboard, the user chooses five CHERRY MX RGB switches: between the linear MX RGB RedSpeed Silver, and Silent Red, the tactile MX Brown, and the clicky MX Blue. So Mountain offers a broad portfolio of different switching characteristics. Each Everest Max comes with additional MX switches to allow users to try out other switch variations. For this purpose, Mountain also includes tools to remove the keycaps and the switches themselves from the keyboard. Thanks to the hot-swappable sockets, no soldering is required either.

To manage the RGB lighting, key bindings, displays, and firmware, the Mountain Base Camp software stands ready. Designed from the ground up to strike the optimal balance between ease of use and flexibility, the application allows users to configure their Everest to their own personal preferences.

SECOND PRIZE: MOUNTAIN EVEREST CORE

The second prize is the Mountain Everest Core, which offers the essential Everest experience, as it is the basic TKL unit without the modular add-ons mentioned above. With the same core features, such as the five different CHERRY MX RGB switch options, Cherry stabilizers, hot-swap sockets, and the option to upgrade to the modular numpad and media dock later on. Again, we are giving away two models.

THIRD PRIZE: MOUNTAIN EVEREST CORE BAREBONE

The third prize is the essence of Everest: An affordable total package for the connoisseur of mechanical keyboards who have already opted for their favorite switches and keycaps. This is because the Everest Core Barebone comes without these components. Otherwise identical to the Everest Core, the Core Barebone is an ideal foundation for upgrading the Everest to precisely what the user wants. Winners will receive the Everest Core Barebone with CHERRY MX RGB switches of their choice. In total, there will be two barebones to win.
