MKBD 2022: DUCKY X CHERRY MX GIVEAWAY

Meanwhile, we are in the 9th week of the Mechanical Keyboard Day giveaways. During the next few days, we'll be giving away three high-quality mechanical keyboards from our partner Ducky: one full-size One 3 RGB Pure White and two One 3 Mini Daybreak with our CHERRY MX RGB Clear switches. Learn how to enter the raffle in this blog post.

The Ducky One 3 RGB Pure White in its namesake color variant makes up the grand prize. The full-size key layout is ideal for productive work or for those who can't do without a numpad. However, if you can do without it or simply don't have much space on your desk, our other two prizes in the form of the One 3 Mini Daybreak will probably be just right for you. The compact 60% layout not only takes up significantly less space but also leaves more room for handling the mouse.

QUACK MECHANICS FOR THE ULTIMATE KEYBOARDS

All keyboards of the One 3 series are based on the brand-new design philosophy with the melodious name QUACK. The manufacturer bundles four elements under this name.

The first element is the use of PBT double-shot keycaps. Thanks to a unique double-shotting technique, Ducky molds two plastics, ensuring that the key labels do not fade even after long and extensive use. In addition, the surfaces have a matte finish, which is a plus for typing control.

ACOUSTIC AND BALANCE OPTIMIZATIONS

The second element is authentic acoustics. A multi-layered dampening system ensures that the raw acoustics of the key switches are spotlighted, and unwanted noise during typing is reduced. In addition, another layer of EVA foam is integrated under the PCB to further improve noise attenuation.

The third element of QUACK Mechanics is balance. That's why only exclusive premium stabilizers made of robust materials are used, paired with a finely tuned greasing to create an excellent typing feel even on the larger keys like the space bar.

The fourth and thus final element is an optimized construction. The One 3 series keyboards feature refined weight distribution and a lower build height to improve overall stability. Particular attention has been paid to the front-to-back weight ratio to keep the keyboard stable, which is essential for gaming and typing.

IMPROVEMENT IN DETAIL

Other highlights of the One 3 series include a dual-layer PCB that offers a longer lifetime and higher signal stability than traditional PCBs. In addition, users can choose between n-key and 6-key rollover. The polling rate amounts to 1,000 Hertz. Also included is a color-matched, detachable USB-C cable. All One 3 keyboards also feature hot-swap functionality, allowing the mechanical switches to be replaced without soldering.

AVAILABLE WITH CHERRY MX RGB CLEAR

The One 3 series also features another debut: they were the first mechanical keyboards to feature the new CHERRY MX RGB Clear. This tactile switch without an audible click requires a pre-travel of 2 millimeters and an actuation force of 65 centinewtons and is now available as an RGB variant.
