DCMM POWERED BY CHERRY MX: INTERNATIONAL GERMAN CASEMOD CHAMPIONSHIP (DCMM) MOVES TO LEIPZIG

10/2018 by  HOLGER DASSLER - Back to overview

The International German Casemod Championship (DCMM) is now part of DreamHack Leipzig, is powered by CHERRY, and is starting this year already.

Between February 15-17, 2019, visitors of DreamHack at the Leipzig Trade Fair will marvel at the creative works of the world's best modders. For the 17th time since 2002, talented women and men will demonstrate their abilities and compete for a popular place on the podium. The DCMM is now organized in cooperation with the steadily growing DreamHack Leipzig. The DCMM is an annual event; winners carry their title as acting champions for the full calendar year. In addition to the five proven categories, there is also a new keyboard modding category, sponsored by CHERRY.

Casemodding – from commercial hardware to something unique

If you think computer hardware looks boring, you'll be surprised. The elite of the casemodding scene will show off their abilities in five categories: CaseMods (case modification; modified commercially available computer cases), CaseCons (case construction; self-designed and self-built cases), CE Mods (consumer electronics modification; modified hardware cases except computers), Cases on the Move (self-driving mods) and a 24-hour Livemodding Challenge. On each of the first three days of DreamHack the teams of the Livemodding Challenge will have up to 24 hours to create a casemod out of standard bulk goods. Expert judges will nominate the most impressive results in all categories on the last day of the DCMM. During the finals, DreamHack visitors get to select the most spectacular creations and most beautiful cases from the selection of finalists.

Keyboard Modding - powered by CHERRY

This year for the first time there is a brand-new challenge for modders: CHERRY has provided 15 top-class MX-Board 5.0 keyboards with the world's leading MX switch technology and patented ergonomics solution to interested modders. In addition, Corsair has provided 15 of their K70 RGB Mk.2's, a rugged, mechanical, premium-class gaming keyboard. Equipped with a lightweight, durable aluminum frame and CHERRY MX switches, this keyboard delivers the reliability and precision that gamers need. Modders are allowed to modify these keyboards to their heart's content. "Keyboard Modding - powered by CHERRY" is part of the traditional CE Mods category, but there will also be a special jury award for these creations during the awards ceremony.
